A Logical Explanation for Purgatory

Lets just imagine that there was just Heaven and Hell, no Purgatory. The Bible teaches us that nothing unclean will enter Paradise. This makes sense because it can't be paradise if there are sinners in it. Thus, if there was no purification of these sinners then that means that they would all go to Hell even if their sins were not serious. We know that God's love is endless and he would not send someone to just because they did some small thing during their lifetime. Thus, there must be some kind of purification before we enter Heaven, which is Purgatory.

The Catholic Church is not a Cult

Often people say Catholics just do whatever the Pope tells them and don't think for them selves. They say we are a cult or brainwashed. However, we as Catholics have a moral obligation to do what we believe is right.

If the Pope told us to kill ourselves we would not do it because obviously it is wrong. We must always do what we believe to be God's will. Since God is the source of all truth, to deny what is common sense, or what we believe to be true, would be an offense to God. It would be denying God by denying the truth.

Catholics obey the faith because they believe in what the Church teaches. We also have faith in the Church that she teach the correct doctrines and not lead us into error.

The Church has been wrong before. One instance is that the Church used to support the death penalty. Thus, the Church can be wrong. However, the faithful must trust the Church as a caring mother and her priests as teachers of the faith since it is the Church that Christ founded. The Church has survived two millennia and has had many wonderful people from which she has made her decisions.

How to Keep Good Relationships

In this country the divorce rate is alarmingly high. About 50%. What effect does this have on the children of the divorced? It inherently shows them that relationships are disposable and they carry the same practices of their parents. It also, must cause physiological damage to them. A strong, unified family will help build a strongly moral individual just as a divided family may lead to an individual with a weak sense of morals. The morality in this country is unbelievably low and I think this could likely be one of the main causes.

How is a healthy relationship maintained? Here are my ideas.

1. Equality- Both individuals in a relationship are equal. Their ideas should be respected and they should not be chastised for them. If there is a disagreement, the individuals should peacefully discuss it and try to find a solution or compromise. There should be no yelling because that is disrespectful and shows that you feel dominant to the other; that your opinion matters more.

2. Respect- Both individuals should be respected as people and not just objects to be won or lost. People are not property.

3. Fidelity- This one is blatantly obvious. It can also, go with respect. This can also be thinking of other individuals.

4. Honesty- The individuals in a relationship should not lie to each other. Otherwise it turns the other individual into no more than an object. They must be able to function as one.

5. Trust- The individuals in a relationship must be able to trust each other. They must be able to function as one.

6. Support- Both individuals should help each other with their problems and try to make each other happy.

7. Tolerance- Both individuals are most certainly going to have disagreements and do things differently. They should be able to accept this and compromise.

About Me

Hello. I will start by blog by telling about myself. My first name is Nicholas and my comfirmation name is Francis. I am a faithful practicing Catholic and I want a renewed interest in the Tridentine Latin Mass. I haven't been to a TLM yet but, plan on going to one sometime and I have watched one on youtube. I have heard many good things about it and I like many aspects of it. Additionally, I hope more people will ask for the assistance of their Guardian Angels, which God has allowed to be our life long companions in the battle against Satan. I may post more about my ideas later but, I will now move on to other things. I am a junior in high school and I want to have a heath related career. I live in Ohio in the Columbus Diocese. I want to get a job soon. I used to work as a busboy at my dad's restaurant, but it burnt down in a fire. I like to read and am interested in current events. I like to help people. I am usually a quiet person but I am working on being more social. I like animals and have 2 cats, 1 rabbit, 1 dog, 1 goldfish and additionally 25 chickens.
